Denim Company Selects WITNESS Predictive Simulation Technology to Optimise Uptime of Weave Machines and Support Six Sigma

Lanner, a provider of predictive simulation software proven to maximise performance and optimise resources, today announced that Turkey-based textiles manufacturer ISKO has invested in its WITNESS predictive simulation technology. The company, which designs and manufactures denim for brands which include Levi, Next and Marks & Spencer, will use WITNESS to support six sigma programmes, and monitor and maintain its weaving machines with a view to improving uptime, and boosting production.

The contract represents the first for CodeArt, Lanner’s new partner in Turkey, and comes as the Turkish economy bucks the global trend by chalking up 5% year on year growth for the 10th consecutive year.
“Having reviewed a number of simulation solutions over the last three years, WITNESS was the only platform which could meet all of our requirements,” comments Adnan Kocamer, director of supply chain, ISKO. “CodeArt demonstrated that WITNESS could simulate all of our manufacturing processes, allowing us to experiment with different options and ultimately, improve the uptime and productivity of our weaving machines.”

Geoff Hook, projects director, Lanner comments:

“With price pressure showing no signs of abating, European textile manufacturers have to demonstrate flexibility, intelligence and innovation in their production processes if they are to compete with their non-EU counterparts. Simulation enables manufacturers to experiment with process change in a virtual environment so that they can implement new initiatives and innovations, minimise their risk profile and maximise profitability.”
