Kevin Sheehy discusses how the use of simulation can sometimes be over looked when there is a lack of knowledge within an organisation
As I travel around visiting our WITNESS users, both in the US and UK, I am always struck by the energy and motivation our users have for using the software. I am also very impressed by the benefits that the simulation models identify in these organisations, which is down to the hard work and effort put in by the WITNESS users.
One of the great things about using simulation is that it allows you to get to grips with the challenges being faced by your organisation and enables you to influence the direction your organisation takes by identifying solutions to problems that management have been wrestling with. Just look through some of the success stories on our website and you will see numerous examples of how simulation and WITNESS users like you have really made a difference within their organisations.
Another thing that has struck me is that often when I talk to other managers within the same organisation, they have little or no knowledge of simulation, its potential to solve challenges they are currently facing and the fact that they have someone within their organisation that could help them. The work done by simulation modellers is often undervalued – not because of the lack of benefit but because of the lack of knowledge within the organisation.
So, how can we spread the good news on the work that you are doing within your organisation? How can we help you gain credit for making a real difference to your organisation? We have worked with a number of organisations to address this and help you to:-
- communicate your value throughout your business
- educate those new to simulation of its benefits
- increase awareness of your capability
- discover new projects where simulation can add value
- enhance your reputation internally & externally through results
If you are concerned that simulation is not getting the credit that it should, Lanner can help. If you want to chat through how we can help spread the great message of how simulation benefits your organisation, why not give us a call or drop us an email.
