We’re delighted to announce a new book on WITNESS Simulation from Dr Neil Murray, who lectures at Universities in Detroit and who actively uses WITNESS in his role at an automotive electronics company.
Now updated to include WITNESS Horizon 22, the book provides a practical hands-on journey through the world of simulating with WITNESS and I heartily recommend it. It also provides invaluable commentary on topics such as lean and axiomatic design, knitting these into creating valuable simulation models within WITNESS.
Titled “Rational Process Design - Simulation Modeling with WITNESS Horizon 22” the book is available now on Amazon here, either in printed or Kindle formats.
Written in an informal style and packed with over 200 illustrations (many WITNESS screenshots) the book is easy to follow and informs and entertains at the same time.
The basics of WITNESS models are covered well, complementing the already installed learning materials within WITNESS. There are also a good measure of advanced options included, such as Match rules, Conveyors (including sensors), Paths (including “Using” and “With” options in rules), the use of variables and distributions and more. Recent WITNESS Horizon functionality is included too, for example the ability to move elements over time in both 2D and 3D. In addition, many chapters illustrate the use of 3D views as created from the collection of 3D objects included in the WITNESS libraries.
All in all this is a great book that is right up to date with the software. I hope you find it useful.
